A mysterious break-in, a congressional lobbying effort about voting, and a sneaky way to get kids excited about the upcoming election...without the nastiness of politics.

The Fina Mendoza Mysteries podcast has always been about getting the next generation of voters excited about civics. But lately, it’s been difficult to talk about how government works without yelling at people.

This special 2-part election episode of The Fina Mendoza Mysteries, “Let Kids Vote!” is designed to help teachers and parents talk to their kids about the election process in a non-partisan way.

The episode features real-life Congressman Mark Takano from California who takes questions from the fictional kids.

It's a new school year for Fina Mendoza, another year of distance learning. Her teacher assigns a Genius Project, letting students pick the topic they'd like to research and present to the class. Since it's an election year and Fina's congressman father is back in California campaigning for re-election, Fina decides to research voting.
